Below is a brief summary of fixes and new features:

Enhancements:

1) Better network stability
2) Optimization of bandwidth usage for group play
3) Other minor modifications and enhancements have also been made

New Features:

1) Speaker Group Settings are now kept even after power cycling
2) Music Library Folder view for folder browsing
3) A much easier way to setup the speakers (more below)
4) One Button Home Cinema (More on this below)
5) Automatic switching between Bluetooth and Wi-Fi sources for Android (More on this below)

Easy Setup:

So what is this new easier way to set up speakers and how will it help you? Before we go into the benefits and description, it is important to note that for this feature to work both the application and the speaker need to have the new firmware. The reason you should know that is that new speakers may not have this firmware until retailers sell existing inventory and take new stock from us. That means for the short term this will only help people that are relocating their system, attaching it to a new network access point and other such situations. It is our hope in the future that new customers will be able to simply use the feature as is, but as noted that will take some time for the older inventory to work its way through dealers.

On to what the feature is. We all know that one of the benefits of Music Flow Wireless speakers is Bluetooth. LG has found a rather ingenious way of using Bluetooth to help with the setup of speakers (with updated firmware). Since setting up speakers can be a point of difficulty, why not let the application detect the speakers using Bluetooth. Simply take all of your speakers and plug them in to the wall near where you are (Bluetooth has a range of about 10Meters or 30 feet) and turn them on. Run the setup application from within the Music Flow application and the phone will search out the speakers automatically. Once it identifies the speakers it will ask for your SSID and password. Enter it in ONE time and the application will then connect all the speakers automatically and sequentially. The amount of time this should take will depend on the number of speakers you are adding but really shouldn’t take longer than 2 min for the first speaker and 30 seconds for every speaker thereafter.

One Button Home Cinema:

As you might know, we introduced some new Sound Bars at CES in January that had a unique “One Button Home Cinema” mode. This update allows the feature to work with existing speakers and we are adding it to our older bars as well. The way the system worked (before the update), if you wanted to connect your speakers to a Sound Bar you had to group them as surrounds in the application. One Button Home Cinema will allow you to simply tap a button on the bar and on the speakers and the system will automatically pair the surrounds for you. No having to open the application. It’s just another way we are trying to make the system easier to use.

Automatic Switching of Bluetooth and Wi-Fi:

Imagine you are using a Wi-Fi service from your phone and then decide you want to use a Bluetooth service. The way the system worked, if you wanted to start streaming that Bluetooth you had to change the input of the speaker to Bluetooth. Now we have added the ability to automatically detect on Android phones with kind of service you are using and has the ability to switch the speakers automatically for you.

We hope that these changes and fixes will make using our system easier in the future and were inspired from feedback we have received from customers like yourself. As mentioned many times, we really do listen to your feedback here and are striving to build a better, stronger, and more open speaker system. Thanks to all of you for your continued efforts in making that happen.

The LG Team

THX for that so far! More open means an API like eg the Philips Hue System? That would make the system incredible open!

At last I can listen to music like a normal person, free of anxiety and that creeping trepidation over "speaker dropout". I can't begin to explain the joy of melting into the sofa with tunes tinkling while cradling the knowledge that I am no longer an LG lab rat... Well done LG, you are no longer being investigated by the Hague for crimes against humanity!

Lots of love from Simon XXX

So far so good. Speakers have been intact in the app since the update so no need to climb up bookcases to turn off and on again. Also switching between speakers using Spotify connect seems much quicker. Still too nervous to send up the balloons of glory but I'm starting to approach optimism

It seems to be working well. The surround setup is not lost for 2 days now and the ARC is allowing the TV to turn the speakers ON.

Two problems:
1. the speakers are ON when the TV is turned ON, but the TV remote does not change the volume unless I go first to the TV settings to swich anynet receiver ON
2. even though the system is working better than ever with the TV, the app does not detect any installed speakers since I updated them. So no music, only TV.

Is anyone experiencing such problems too?

My HS7 bluetooth range seem to have improved following this update which is great, however I still need to keep my laptop bluetooth disabled by default otherwise each time I start up the laptop HS7 will pick up the signal and switch to bluetooth function automatically. It would be great if I could choose whether or not I want it to do so...

Also number of users is reporting the problem with both the HS7 and HS9 going silent at random. HS7 needs to be then manually disconnected in order to initialize, before it will work normal in ARC again. This is extremely annoying as it happens on a daily basis. It also appears to be triggered by the tv adds (at least in my case).

@LG
It wasn't happening before the latest update, therefore looks like it's to do with the code change and something that can be fixed.

I have a HS7 soundbar with two H3 surround speakers. After the update, I'm noticing the soundbar is rebooting itself a number of times a day. After reboot everything gets back to normal.
Suddenly all speakers get silent and few seconds later the soundbar reboots! I notice this mostly while changing between TV channels, when going from PCM channels to Dolby 5.1 channels. I did not have this issue before the latest update (March 2016)! I can see also that many other members in this forum have reported the same issue!

Ever since the latest update I haven't been able to use any of my streaming services, very frustrating!
The throw icon appears but is not "lit up" So as I cannot activate it (tapping icon does nothing).
Attempting from a Sony Xperia z5

I have the same problem before and after the update. I can't stream and have all the speakers connected at the same time

Is there a way to control the rear surround speakers volume through the apps when pairing with sound bar?

Thanks Khalil..that makes my life easier to control the volume. Sometime the rear speakers are too quiet but sometime could be loud depends on the source.
So far so good with the surround speakers using 2 H3 wireless speakers.

Planning to have an acceptable support for Google cast anytime soon? Sick of resetting my speaker everytime I want to use it.

This is from a comment frim LG before the March update. This seems to be in the plan. Hopefully it will be realized soon.
LG seems to be very slow in moving from plans to execution!

So far so good with a simple 5.1 surround setup. Happy with it and it sounds as good as my yamaha 5.1 home theatre system
