Re: LG is proud to announce 3 new additions to the Music Flow Wireless Family.

Just discovered this site. Am thinking of picking up LG H3 speaker to start off a multi-room setup. Sonos is too expensive. Would make use of the bultin Chromecast Audio set up in the H3. I am bothered, tho, by the mixed reviews. Maybe I should wait and see what LG and others come up with in the next couple months. OTH, HHGregg has the H3 for $80 for the next few days. It is almost a 1.5 year old product, tho.

Along with new musicflow devices, the current musicflow systems will be updated accordingly.

Re: LG is proud to announce 3 new additions to the Music Flow Wireless Family.

I am getting mixed messages from LG. I got one message , a few days ago, that it actually has CCA (Chromecast Audio) builtin - so I din't need to use the CCA dongle.
Based on that - I bought it on 12/26. It did NOT connect automatically to my CCA system like other speakers. Not ONLY that, THERE is no input other than for an ethernet connection. So I called your CS and was told it only can be connected via ethernet!!
Are you saying that this speaker WILL become CCA compatible in near future? If so, I'll wait til I hear from you before I return it to the store. BTW, how would I upgrade the s/w? Connect temporarily via ethernet to the internet?
I guess what I need to ask, will the speaker be able to operate, eventually, w.o. wired connection to the internet? With CCA, any powered speaker w. a 3.5mm input (or RCA or optical), can be used.
Thank you.

Hi the speakers work with WiFi or Wired or bluetooth. You need to download and run the LG Musicflow software (android seems best, or IOS or PC). And configure the speaker to your access point etc. I've not tried it but I dont' see why they need to connect to the Internet.

Thanks. Will give that a try (tomorrow)and then see if I can incorporate it into the CCA system. I am not optimistic. It sounds from the post from "J", above, that LG has to do some s/w upgrades.

Mike, LG has a lot of software upgrades to do, take a ticket and get in line! Joking. I'm not. sad

I think many, many members would prefer LG to fix their current products rather than announcing new ones.

Not a single hint of the forced audio delay in that press release....

Re: LG is proud to announce 3 new additions to the Music Flow Wireless Family.

I am a "newbie" when it comes to this field. I hadn't realized that powered speakers by diff. mfrs. (eg. Sony, LG, etc. were built with th eir own proprietary software built in. I thought all speakers were like soundbars. All you have to do is plug in the audio source and away you go. That's the advantage of Google chromecast. All you have to do is take any generic speaker that has its own power and plug in the chrome cast device. There seem to be many powered speakers out there, some from well-known manufacturers, but for some reason they don't come with grill covers. Some people like that look. I think it makes the speakers look "unfinished".
I did not realize when I bought the LG speaker that I would be blocked from simply by plugging in the chrome cast device by the built-in software. I thought it would be as simple as using a sound bar.
